Julius Caesar?

After a wreck, a rose sale, turning in grades, and preparing units for Julius Caesar and Raisin in the Sun, I feel more in control at school.
My students were not happy about reading Caesar, so I talked to the drama teacher and she loaned me a drum, a crown, boots, swords, and wigs.

Let 'em come... I'm ready for 'em... Et tu, Brute!!!

Grey's Anatomy-my favorite show!!

Time to watch Grey's Anatomy. Im not sure why I like this show so much; sometimes the Alzheimer's episodes are a little too much reality for me.

But I can relate to Meredith Grey because she seems to stumble through life....Learning things after the fact.

Wooo Hooooo TAKS is over!!

My feet are aching, and my body is too. Teachers had to walk and move around the students being tested, so I spent most of the day on my feet.
The kids worked hard, and the teachers were proud of them. Hopefully, their scores will be great, and the school's scores will go up.
Rice Consolidated's goal is to move up the rating scale.

Jodie-the Boatswain's Mate

Jodie serves on the USS John C Stennis. It is an aircraft carrier based in Washington. She "drives" the Stennis, brings in the anchor chain, helps with the moorings, pulls watch. Jodie's team helps transport supplies from a moving supply boat to the moving Stennis using cables, hooks, and rope.

The Stennis is in the Persan gulf, and she is "taking care of business" (Jodie's words) for her country. Ray and I are extremely proud of her.

In one card Jodie sent me , she said the days are slow and repetitive. She and the other sailors are bored and have read everything on the ship. Jodie asked for books, mags, cds, etc; she said the sailors share all their reading materials with each other. I sent out a request for reading materials to my colleagues at work, and I was overwhelmed and touched by the response. Materials have poured in, and I will have many packages to send to my daughter and the other sailors!!

Jamie awarded Junior Sailor of the Year

At this command, Training Air Wing-4, the main objective is to train new pilots for the fleet.
Jamie's typical day is mustering at 6:30am. She mans up the tower and radar 15 minutes, prior to the field opening. Jamie gets the "hard stand" posted, does roll call, lights up the air field when it's still dark, and checks the runway. Then she clears the runway.

How's that for a small town girl from the country?

The cold is getting old

The temperature is dropping, and I believe I have worn every cold weather outfit I have one hundred and eight times over. I lov e my chuka boots, but am ready to wear some cute shoes!!

I will never complain about the warm, balmy weather again if it ever returns. (yeah right)

Happy Valentine's Day

My Student Council members are in the middle of a rose sale. It has been crazy but fun. Hopefully, the amount of orders will correspond with the amount of flowers! Last year, I had to make an emergency run to HEB and buy more.

Mom is getting a flower basket, and Ray is getting videos. I am hoping for some flowers.
